Where do all American kids line up for a cone after their ball games? Who rewards students for good report cards with cool treats? Where can you select from Blizzards, floats, parfaits, sundaes, and Dilly bars? Your neighborhood Dairy Queen, of course! What would you do without it?

Just Desserts is the story of nine-year-old Jilly Mazilli, who returned home to Wellsville, Ohio, from her ocean vacation with her family to find an empty lot where her town’s DQ stood the week before. This lively realistic fiction tells how it happened and how Jilly and her softball teammates attempt to find a substitute for their soft serve fix. Sometimes the Bulldogs win; sometimes they lose. But you can be sure they’ll be hungry after their games! Join Jilly through her summer adventures with lucky socks, controversial calls, fan interference, injuries, celebrations, mascots, and after-game parties.

Just Desserts is a family-friendly chapter book with plenty of sports action and humorous surprises. There’s even a recipe for Jilly’s favorite after-game snack!
